On the Vintage Trail – The Clyde Valley

I was out on the vintage trail this weekend in the lovely Clyde Valley. Not every location where you look for vintage in Scotland is this picturesque but quite a few are.

Loch Garry, the “Map of Scotland”

Loch Garry
Here’s a picture of Loch Garry that lies North of Fort William in the Lochaber area of the West Highlands of Scotland. From a particular viewpoint on the road, it famously looks like a map of Scotland.

Thought I’d share this view down Glen Affric one of Scotland’s loveliest highland glens.

A Highland Pond

As a contrast to winter, as it starts to get a grip, here in Scotland I thought I’d share this picture of water lilies and rushes on a little highland pond in summer.

Camusdarach Beach Sunset

I thought I’d share this picture of a sunset on one of the world’s loveliest beaches, Camusdarach Beach just outside Arisaig, in the Western Highlands. The view looks out to the Isles of Eigg and Rum.

Scourie Sunset

Scourie in Sutherland, looking out from the cliff top to view the sunset over the bay and Handa Island. Catching a chance glimpse of the beauty that Scotland can sometimes suddenly reveal.

Lilac Sunset

A dramatic lilac sunset through cloud forms over the West of Scotland. This is the actual colour not a filter.

The Forth Rail Bridge in Late Autumn

Here’s a picture of The Forth Rail Bridge on a lovely clear late autumn day last year. The iconic cantilever bridge has been open since 1890 and stands on the Firth of Forth connecting Edinburgh and Fife. It is one of the great Scottish landmarks.
