A Dauner Through Some More Scots Words - D

Here’s the next in a series of occasional posts on Scots or dialect words commonly used in Scotland.

Dauner: a walk or stroll

Dirk: a short knife / sword

Doughty: steadfast, resolute

Driech: gloomy as in weather

Drookit: drenched, wet through

Drouth: a thirst
